Hungary announces 2026 autumn matura exam schedule

The 2026 autumn matura exam period in Hungary is scheduled to run from October 12 to November 20. Written examinations will take place between October 12 and October 22, covering subjects such as Hungarian language and literature, mathematics, history, and various foreign languages. Oral examinations are set for November 5–9 at the advanced level and November 16–20 at the intermediate level.

Concurrently, the 2026/2027 secondary school admission season has begun, bringing increased pressure on families. Researchers have identified a phenomenon known as ‘parental educational anxiety,’ which describes the psychological and physical stress parents experience during the school selection and application process.
