Csendes Olivér appointed head of Hungarian Tourism Agency

Economic and energy minister Kapitány István announced that Csendes Olivér will lead the Magyar Turisztikai Ügynökség (MTÜ). Olivér brings extensive international experience, having served as chief executive of Visit Hungary and as digital‑innovation director at the Austrian National Tourism Board. He holds a master’s degree from the Vienna University of Economics and an Executive MBA from Oxford. His background also includes senior roles in multinational corporate management, business consulting, and startup ecosystem development. The appointment follows the dismissal of former director Guller Zoltán and is presented as a move to boost digitalisation, data‑driven tourism management, and international marketing for Hungary’s tourism sector.
