Hungary: Drunk pilot arrested after stealing Cessna and flying toward nuclear plant

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Hungary after stealing a Cessna 172 aircraft from an airport and flying toward the Paks nuclear power plant. The incident prompted the military to scramble fighter jets to intercept the small plane.

The flight concluded with an emergency landing in a field near the municipality of Gerjen, where the aircraft's landing gear broke. Following the crash, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by police. Medical examinations revealed the man was intoxicated at the time of the incident, and he later claimed to have no memory of the events.
