Hungary expands MÁVPlusz app with real‑time delay maps

Transport minister Vitézy Dávid announced a new version of Hungary's MÁVPlusz mobile application that now displays real‑time delay information on a map. The update lets users track the location of trains, HÉV and TramTrain services, as well as inter‑city buses, and see deviations from the scheduled timetable.

The rollout follows more than fifty days of restoring the EMIG system, relaunching the Vonatinfó service and committing to publish detailed monthly delay statistics. Future enhancements will add vehicle types, line numbers and improve the search function. Vitézy emphasized that while the new data will not instantly make trains punctual, providing accurate information to passengers is a cornerstone of a modern transport system.
