Viktor Orbán vows Fidesz reorganization amid political clashes
Viktor Orbán, leader of the Fidesz party, has announced plans to reorganize Fidesz by the end of December following the party's electoral defeat in April. Speaking at a camp in Lakitelek, Orbán accused the current Tisza-led government of destroying the achievements of his previous 16 years in power. He characterized the Tisza Party as a “passing phenomenon” and suggested his own political mission remains unfinished.
Prime Minister Péter Magyar responded to Orbán's remarks, accusing him of suggesting a violent change to the constitutional order. Magyar noted that Orbán's comments regarding the distribution of “sharper” tools to supporters could violate criminal laws against attempting to forcibly change the state's constitutional order.
Separately, a legal dispute has emerged between Minister Vilmos Kátai-Németh and former state secretary Zsófia Koncz. Kátai-Németh filed a report alleging that over 600 million HUF in public funds intended for family policy were used to finance Koncz's election campaign in Szerencs. Koncz has denied these allegations, stating the events were free to attend and has announced she will sue the minister for violating her personal rights.
