The car of Vukašin Vujičić, a public prosecutor in Valjevo, was set on fire near his home during the night between August 15 and 16. Vujičić reported that the vehicle's rear, roof, and engine area were doused with flammable liquid before being ignited. A neighbor managed to partially extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.

Vujičić suspects the attack is a direct consequence of his professional work, specifically his involvement in high-profile and complex criminal cases. He noted that he is currently prosecuting a criminal group led by Marko Mirković. Following the incident, students and high school students in Valjevo organized a protest to show support for the prosecutor and demanded a thorough investigation.

The Association of Public Prosecutors of Serbia issued a statement expressing full support for Vujičić, warning that such attacks threaten the independence of the prosecution and the rule of law. They called on the High Prosecutorial Council to react immediately. In response to the security threat, Vujičić stated his intention to temporarily move his wife and children away from Valjevo while he continues his professional duties.
