Hungary heatwave peaks before cold front brings sharp cooling
Meteorologists forecast that Hungary will experience a sharp heatwave in early June, with temperatures reaching 32‑33 °C in parts of the country, especially the Great Plain, while the western regions stay just above 20 °C. The warm spell is expected to begin on Monday, intensify through Tuesday, and peak on Wednesday.
A cold front driven by an Atlantic cyclone is set to arrive on Wednesday, causing a rapid temperature drop to 21‑26 °C, strong north‑western winds, and widespread showers and thunderstorms across the nation. By Thursday the front is expected to move out of the country, ending the precipitation and bringing clearer skies.
