Hungary hosts seasonal wine and gastronomy festivals

Hungary is hosting several culinary and wine-focused events this autumn. In Sátoraljaújhely, the 20th Zsólyomka Open Cellars event is scheduled for October 24, 2026. The festival will feature Tokaj wine tastings, including varieties such as Furmint and Hárslevelű, alongside gastronomic specialties and musical performances.

Additionally, the Visit Hungary initiative is launching ‘Autumn on the Plate’, a ten-day gastronomic program running from October 8 to 18. Centered in Budapest and surrounding regions, the event highlights seasonal ingredients like pumpkin, mushrooms, and chestnuts. Participating venues include Rosenstein Vendéglő, Marumba, and Szaletly, with further culinary activities extending to locations such as Tata, Szentendre, and Nagymaros.
