Hungary invests 41.5 bn HUF in OPUS TITÁSZ grid upgrade and expands Békéscsaba industrial infrastructure

OPUS TITÁSZ Zrt. completed a 41.489 billion‑forint electricity‑grid development funded through the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility. Half of the cost was provided as non‑repayable support, enabling new high‑voltage elements, substation expansions, digitalisation and the integration of up to 261 MW of weather‑dependent renewable capacity, bolstering grid flexibility and supply security.

In the city of Békéscsaba, a multi‑year programme of industrial‑area upgrades will run until April 2027. Works include a solar‑lit public parking facility on Berényi Road, additional parking on Tessedik Street, a new two‑way 2.1 km bike path along Dobozi Road, extensive storm‑water drainage improvements linking the Nádas and Borjúréti canals, and the construction of new bike connections to the state‑run industrial zone. The project also adds greenery, upgrades lighting and revamps bus stops, aiming to improve access, safety and environmental performance for the local industry.
