Hungary's Museums Night 2026 kicks off with events in Kecskemét, Sopron and Lake Balaton

On June 20 2026, Hungary will hold its annual Múzeumok Éjszakája (Museums Night), opening hundreds of museums, galleries and cultural venues nationwide for free after-hours programs.

In Kecskemét, the Szórakaténusz Game Museum and the Magyar Naïve Artists Collection will run interactive exhibitions, crafts workshops and a light‑show. Sopron is the featured city, centering its programme on gastronomy under the banner “Flavors in Stories”, with food writer Mautner Zsófiné serving as ambassador and a series of culinary events alongside the usual exhibitions and concerts.

The Lake Balaton region will host eleven venues, including Festetics Castle in Keszthely, the Vitorlabeach Museum in Balatonfüred and the József Attila Memorial House, offering guided tours, concerts, LEGO installations, night‑time light shows and family‑friendly activities. A single wristband grants access to all participating sites across the country.
