Hungary launches charity trek and school‑start subsidies to aid children and families
A charity walk organized by the Élmény Tár youth association will take place on June 21, offering 3‑km, 5‑km, and 10‑km routes from the Misina peak. Participants pay a registration fee of 2,500 HUF for adults and 1,000 HUF for children; all proceeds will fund a one‑week Balaton summer camp for 30 children whose families cannot otherwise afford the trip.
In Szeged, Mayor László Botka announced a 20,000 HUF school‑start grant for each primary‑school child living in the city. Eligible families must have a per‑capita monthly income not exceeding 390,000 HUF. Applications are submitted online through the city’s portal. The subsidy is part of a broader 2.4 billion HUF municipal budget for social assistance, aimed at helping tens of thousands of local households.
