Hungary launches road resurfacing projects in Szentendre and Győr

In Szentendre, municipal crews began repainting bicycle‑lane markings on Ady Endre Road on the first week of July. The work, part of a broader traffic‑technical redesign, will run until July 15 and includes temporary half‑lane traffic restrictions. The project, costing about four million forints, aims to clarify shared road use between vehicles and cyclists on the EuroVelo 6 route.

In Győr, the Zrínyi Road renovation started on Monday, July 6, closing the full width of the road between Eszperantó út and Hunyadi utca. The upgrade involves replacing a district heating pipe, renewing pavement layers, and installing new drainage, with the work slated for completion on August 19. The closure redirects more than 270 regional and long‑distance bus lines and modifies local bus routes, prompting drivers to avoid peak‑hour travel through the area.

Both projects are expected to cause temporary traffic disruptions but aim to improve road safety and infrastructure for motorists, cyclists, and public‑transport users.
