Hungary: Political disputes over parking, land investigations, and medical data unification

Several significant political and administrative developments are occurring in Hungary. A new agreement between the government and Budapest has transferred the authority and revenue from parking regulation from local districts to the capital city. This move has caused significant friction with district leaders, who claim they are losing essential development funds.

In legal matters, the Budapest Police Headquarters has launched an investigation into Philip Rákay regarding a potential abuse of office. The probe concerns a land acquisition in Rácalmás by his company, Greendustry Projekt Zrt., where authorities are investigating whether the company gained access to non-public information regarding industrial expansion plans to secure a highly profitable deal.

Additionally, the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK) has announced plans to unify medical professional data. President Péter Álmos stated that the chamber aims to consolidate information from up to 14 different state databases into a single system by late next summer to accurately track the number, specialties, and locations of doctors working in both public and private sectors.
