Hungary pushes 2026 university admission thresholds announcement to July 23

The Hungarian Education Office announced that the 2026 university admission point thresholds will be released on July 23, a week later than the traditional July 3 date. The delay is attributed to a surge of about 10,000 additional applicants, requiring more time for processing by the office and universities.

In the city of Békéscsaba, the local youth association EBI will host its annual point‑celebration event on the same day. The gathering at the CSAKK Stage will feature concerts and a DJ set, with the official threshold announcement scheduled for 8 p.m. The event aims to bring together hundreds of prospective students, offering information booths on scholarships, dormitories, and career options such as police, military and civil protection.
