Hungary releases list of 3,598 non-public government resolutions

The Hungarian government, led by Péter Magyar, has begun releasing lists of 3,598 non-public government resolutions passed between 2010 and 2026 during the Viktor Orbán administration. These '2000-series' decisions were not published in the official Gazette, Magyar Közlöny, but were instead sent directly to relevant officials. The data shows a significant increase in such decisions over time, peaking during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 with 679 resolutions.

In a related development, Péter Magyar and Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony are set to meet at the reactivated Capital Development Council. The council, which features equal representation from the government and the capital, aims to reach agreements on strategic issues including transportation, budget, and infrastructure projects such as the Danube banks and local baths.

Magyar has used the release of these documents to criticize the previous administration, describing the former government's operations as a 'political-economic mafia' based on his interpretation of prosecutorial documents. The current administration plans to continue releasing summaries of past cabinet meetings following national security reviews.
