Hungary reports rising inflation and industrial growth

According to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), consumer prices in Hungary rose by 1.3 percent in August compared to the same month last year, marking an increase from the 1.2 percent inflation rate recorded in July.

On a monthly basis, prices increased by 0.2 percent in August, following a 0.1 percent decrease in July. While food prices saw a year-on-year decrease of 1.4 percent, services experienced a 5.0 percent increase, with significant rises in theater (17.6 percent) and transport (13.9 percent) costs.

In the industrial sector, production volume grew by 4.7 percent in July compared to the previous year. This represents a recovery from June, when industrial production had declined by 1.4 percent compared to the prior month. For the first seven months of the year, industrial production has increased by 2.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
