Szeged teen dies in industrial cutting‑machine accident

A 17‑year‑old student worker was killed on Thursday at a construction site in Szeged, Hungary, after falling into a cutting and packaging machine used for building‑insulation panels. Witnesses said colleagues left the teenager alone for a few minutes; when they returned the fatal incident had occurred.

Police have opened a criminal investigation for negligent endangerment and are examining whether workplace‑safety regulations and protective equipment requirements were observed. Labour inspectors are also reviewing the employer’s compliance with safety training and equipment standards. The case remains under investigation.
