Hungary trade surplus falls to 69 million euros in July

According to data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary's trade surplus reached 69 million euros in July. This represents a significant decline of 434 million euros compared to the same month in the previous year.

In terms of value measured in euros, exports increased by 11 percent while imports rose by 15 percent. In terms of volume, exports decreased by 1.6 percent and imports increased by 3.1 percent compared to the previous year. The decline in the trade surplus is attributed to weakening external demand and rising domestic demand driven by imports.

Sectoral data shows that while the export volume of energy carriers rose by 29 percent, the export volume of machinery and transport equipment increased by 3.2 percent, while its import volume grew by 13 percent. The export volume of food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 5.9 percent.
