Automotive experts in Hungary warn that the heavier loads typical of summer road trips—full luggage, roof boxes, passengers and sometimes trailers—significantly increase stress on tyres. Low tyre pressure combined with high speeds can raise side‑wall flex, generate excess heat and raise the risk of tread failure or a sudden blow‑out. Drivers are advised to measure pressure on cold tyres before departure, follow manufacturer‑specified values for fully‑loaded conditions, and inspect tread depth and side‑wall damage.

A separate feature looks back at five cars that symbolised the 1980s in Hungary, from locally‑produced models such as the Trabant, Lada and Škoda to rare Western examples like the Volkswagen Golf GTI, an Austrian‑registered BMW and a sportier Ford Sierra.
