Hungary used car market sees rise in hybrid demand

In August, interest in the Hungarian used car market saw a 15.7% decline compared to the previous year, according to data from Használtautó.hu. Despite this overall drop in consumer activity, demand for hybrid models rose by 15%, with inquiries reaching 21,700. The supply of hybrid vehicles also saw a significant increase of 31.3%.

While general interest in diesel and gasoline engines fell by 22.8% and 15.6% respectively, interest in fully electric vehicles grew by 4.5%. The average price for listed vehicles increased by 2.5% to 5.33 million HUF. This price rise is attributed to an improving quality of inventory, as the average age of listed cars decreased from 12.89 to 12.58 years, and the average mileage dropped to 171,649 kilometers.
