Hungary's cities roll out summer outdoor cultural festivals

Budapest is hosting a series of free garden‑cinema events this summer, with screenings in Óbuda, Pesterzsébet, and the Városliget pavilion, as well as locations outside the capital such as Mogyoród, Iváncsán and Piliscsaba. Movies range from classics to recent releases and run on weekday evenings from June through July.

In Szeged, the historic courtyard of the Városháza building will be transformed into an open‑air cultural venue throughout July. The programme includes three nights of the comedy "Varanyi Anna" followed by performances by the SZÖRF Társulat, a Woody Allen comedy, and a contemporary play by Marius von Mayenburg. Evening concerts and café‑style music evenings are also scheduled, with indoor backup at the IH Rendezvényközpont if rain occurs.
