Hungary's Finance Minister Announces €15bn EU Fund for Innovative Companies

Hungarian Finance Minister Kármán András reported that the European Investment Bank, within the European Tech Champions Initiative’s second phase, will launch a new investment fund of around €15 billion. The public‑private structure is intended to mobilise capital for Europe’s fastest‑growing innovative firms, helping them become global market leaders while keeping their operations within the EU.

Kármán said the fund will strengthen the European innovation ecosystem, boost high‑value‑added businesses, create more skilled jobs, raise productivity and increase fiscal revenues. He emphasized that the programme will not create any direct fiscal obligations for Hungary’s state budget.
