Hungary's Ministry of Defence clarifies military summons
The Hungarian Ministry of Defence has clarified the nature of recent military summons sent to residents in Hajdú-Bihar and Tolna counties. Following social media speculation, the Ministry stated that the notices were issued specifically to voluntary reservists for pre-planned service tasks.
The Ministry emphasized that these summons do not represent an extraordinary mobilization or a national-level emergency. Instead, they are part of the routine service requirements for voluntary reservists, who can be called upon during peacetime for training, exercises, and other predetermined duties.
In September, reservists across various parts of the country are participating in intensive training and exercises. These tasks include patrolling, operating checkpoints, area closures, vehicle and personnel inspections, and various combat training activities.
