Hunger Games franchise explores potential future prequels

Following the upcoming release of 'The Ballad of Haymitch Abernathy', the Hunger Games film franchise is considering further expansions of its cinematic universe. Director Francis Lawrence has identified several characters from the original series that could serve as protagonists for future prequel stories.

Lawrence noted that Finnick Odair and Johanna Mason offer compelling material for new narratives. Additionally, the character Mags was mentioned as a figure whose history could be explored. These discussions follow the success of 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' and the continued interest in the backstory of Panem.
