Hunter Biden alleges hidden gay Republican group fuels anti‑LGBTQ politics

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, said on the "I’ve Had It" podcast that a “closeted gay mafia” of Republican officials in Washington drives anti‑LGBTQ sentiment. He linked the group’s internalised homophobia to broader political vitriol and cited the long‑standing speculation about the late Senator Lindsey Graham’s sexuality as an example.

Biden also referenced a Gallup 2026 poll showing Republican support for same‑sex marriage fell from 55 % in 2021 to 37 % in 2026. In a Substack post, he reflected on personal struggles, including his sobriety since 2019 and a voicemail from his father, framing his remarks as part of a wider critique of Republican attitudes toward LGBTQ issues.
