Hunter Goodman leads Colorado Rockies with historic home run surge
Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman is experiencing a standout 2026 season, marked by significant power hitting and milestone achievements. In 112 games, Goodman has maintained a .251 batting average with 70 RBI and an .864 OPS.
Goodman recently reached 35 home runs, becoming the first Rockies player to hit that many in a single season since 2019. His performance included a 432-foot home run against the Washington Nationals that helped the Rockies end a seven-game losing streak. Following that performance, his home run total rose to 36.
Despite facing a left shoulder strain that briefly placed him on the injured list, Goodman has remained a central figure for the franchise. Although he was a subject of intense interest during the August 3 trade deadline, Colorado management opted to retain the 26-year-old All-Star.
