Hunter Greene set to pitch for Reds against Orioles
Cincinnati Reds right‑hander Hunter Greene is scheduled to make his season debut on Saturday night versus the Baltimore Orioles. Greene has been out since undergoing elbow surgery in March to remove bone chips. He completed three minor‑league rehab outings, throwing 14 1/3 innings without allowing a run and striking out 13. Reds manager Terry Francona said Greene is “strong enough, stretched out enough, healthy enough” to pitch without restrictions. The 26‑year‑old was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 draft and holds a 25‑29 record with a 3.65 ERA over 91 starts. The club hopes he will pair with fellow starter Chase Burns to form a top‑rate rotation.
