Hunter Lawrence Claims RedBud Motocross Victory in Grueling Conditions
At the 2026 RedBud National, Hunter Lawrence secured his third overall win of the AMA Pro Motocross season, overcoming a track described as a mix of sand, mud, hard‑pack and slop after heavy rain. He won the second moto after overtaking brother Jett Lawrence, who had taken the first moto despite struggling with an ankle injury. Jett, who noted difficulty balancing on his left foot, fell back in the second moto but still finished third overall. The event featured strong competition from riders such as Jorge Prado and RJ Hampshire, but the harsh conditions were the dominant story, with debris jamming chain guides and causing momentary bike failures. Lawrence’s win marked his fourth career premier‑class overall victory and reinforced his position as the rider to beat heading into the next round at Southwick.
