Hunter Lawrence wins at High Point, narrowing championship gap

The 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship round at High Point Raceway in Pennsylvania featured a dominant performance by Australian rider Hunter Lawrence. He swept both motos in the 450SMX class, winning by margins of over ten seconds in the first moto and nearly five seconds in the second, and trimmed his brother Jett Lawrence's championship lead to just two points heading into the summer break. Lawrence credited a return to his "Pala" bike settings for the improved feel and confidence.

In the 250SMX class, New Zealand’s Cole Davies captured his first outdoor overall victory, winning both motos and becoming the first New Zealander to win a Pro Motocross overall since 2007. Davies led qualifying, overcame early race incidents, and held off competitors to secure the breakthrough win.

Ideal weather provided perfect track conditions for the event, and the results reshaped the championship standings as the season moves toward its final rounds.
