Hunter Paisami banned four matches following dangerous tackle

Wallabies centre Hunter Paisami has been handed a four-match suspension following a tackle on South African fly-half Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu during a Test match in Perth. While Paisami initially faced a six-match ban, an appeal successfully reduced the penalty by two weeks.

The suspension rules Paisami out of the upcoming Bledisloe Cup Tests against the All Blacks, scheduled for October 10 in Auckland and October 17 in Sydney. In response to his absence, the Wallabies have called up Jock Campbell to join the squad.

Wallabies head coach Les Kiss expressed a cautious view on the ruling, stating, ‘It could have been a little bit less than that,’ while noting the team must now deal with the reality of the situation. The incident has also sparked debate regarding World Rugby’s current disciplinary trends and the classification of foul play.
