Hunter Valley and Newcastle host food and wine festivals

Several food and beverage festivals are scheduled for the upcoming weekend in the Hunter Valley and Newcastle regions.

The D'Vine Wine & Food Festival in the Hunter Valley begins Friday night with a Winemakers' Showcase in Pokolbin. The Saturday program features winery tours, tastings, street food, and live music. Participating venues include Thomas Wines, Tintilla Estate, Keith Tulloch Wine, and several others. A shuttle bus will operate between venues on Saturday.

In Newcastle, the inaugural Newcastle Seafood Festival will take place at the Hannell Street Waterfront Precinct. The free community event includes sashimi presentations, oyster and seafood demonstrations, boat tours, and a prawn-peeling competition. Additionally, the Hawker Street Markets will be held at Hamilton's Nyiirunba Park on Saturday evening, featuring various local food vendors and live music.
