Hunter x Hunter moves from Netflix to Crunchyroll after license ends

Netflix removed the shonen series *Hunter x Hunter* from its catalogue on 1 August 2026 after the streaming licence expired on 31 July. The 148‑episode adaptation, originally added in 2011, is now only available in full on Crunchyroll, which offers both subtitled and Spanish‑dubbed versions.

The franchise’s publisher Shueisha announced that a new video will be released on 2 August, showing only a brief thumbnail that includes the emblem of the Phantom Brigade. Fans are speculating that the reveal could pertain to a new story arc, a film, or a special event related to the series, following the recent increase in the manga’s publication frequency.
