Hunting season issues reported in Turkey
The 2026–2027 hunting season has raised concerns regarding both environmental stewardship and administrative accessibility in Turkey.
In Afşin, the Afşin Hunters and Shooters Association has announced the start of the season for partridge, rabbit, and duck hunting. Association President Ufuk Arslantürk has called on hunters to prioritize nature conservation, adhere to hunting limits, and maintain environmental cleanliness by not leaving waste or shell casings in the wild.
Meanwhile, the Borçka Hunters Association has voiced significant criticism regarding the AVBİS and Tarım Cebimde reservation systems. Association President Hasan Karacan reported that hunters face extreme difficulty securing quotas, claiming that many slots are filled within minutes of the midnight opening. The association is calling on the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to improve system transparency, strengthen call center accessibility, and conduct comprehensive testing of digital applications before each season.
