Hunting season opens across various French regions
The general hunting season has officially opened in various regions of France, marked by traditional activities and local organizational updates.
In Saint-Maurice-en-Rivière, multi-generational groups gathered early on Sunday morning to participate in hare hunting. Local hunters noted that while the terrain remains dry, the morning dew provided favorable conditions for tracking and scenting.
In Saint-Aignan, Morbihan, the local hunting association held its general assembly ahead of the season launch. The association reported a slight decrease in membership, now totaling 17 hunters. The board, led by President Jean-Michel Le Bihan for a sixth term, was re-elected unanimously. For the current season, the association will not release pheasants, instead reallocating those funds to cover veterinary expenses related to wild boar hunts. The season's activities include an organized hunt scheduled for Sunday, September 20.
