Hunting seasons begin in North Dakota and North Carolina

Hunting and trapping seasons are beginning across various regions in the United States.

In North Dakota, the 2026 season commenced on August 15 with the early Canada goose management season. Upcoming dates include dove season opening September 1, archery deer and pronghorn seasons on September 4, and grouse and partridge seasons on September 12. Youth-specific seasons for deer, waterfowl, and sandhill cranes are scheduled for mid-September, followed by resident waterfowl on September 26 and pheasant seasons in October. The deer gun season is set to begin on November 6.

In North Carolina, duck hunting is managed through a structured system of zones established by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). Season dates vary by zone, with the early teal season typically starting in late September or early October, while the primary duck season generally begins in November.
