Hunting seasons commence in Greece and Cyprus

New hunting seasons are commencing in Greece and Cyprus, bringing updated regulations and increased participation. In Kos, Greece, the 2026-2027 season begins on August 20, running through February 28, 2027. The Hunting Club of Kos reports a 10% to 15% increase in license renewals, including approximately 22 new members aged 18 or older.

In Cyprus, the summer hunting season begins on August 23, 2026. The Cyprus Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Federation has issued safety warnings regarding high temperatures and fire risks. While hunting for quail and partridge begins on September 2, 2026, hunting for the Mediterranean warbler starts on August 23. Hunters are required to use the Artemis Cy application to record all harvests immediately to assist in rational wildlife management.
