Huntsville community events include BBQ festival and Buddy Walk

Huntsville is hosting several community events, including the return of the WhistleStop BBQ Festival to the MidCity District on October 16-17, 2026. The festival features an amateur barbecue competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, with over 40 teams expected to compete for a $2,000 Grand Champion prize. Attendees can participate in People’s Choice tastings for chicken wings on Friday and pulled pork on Saturday.

Additionally, the 24th Annual Rocket City Buddy Walk is scheduled to take place in Huntsville this Saturday, serving as a community celebration of inclusion and love.
