Huntsville hosts delegations to strengthen aerospace and research ties
Delegations from Colorado Springs and Iowa City have conducted visits to Huntsville, Alabama, to study the region's aerospace and research infrastructure.
A group of approximately 90 leaders from Colorado Springs traveled to Huntsville from October 4 to 7 to strengthen ties with military and space hubs, including Redstone Arsenal and the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. This effort follows the relocation of the U.S. Space Command, which Colorado Springs lost in September 2025. The mission aims to stabilize workforce, supply chain, and research cooperation between the two cities.
Additionally, a delegation from Iowa City visited Huntsville to analyze economic development and the growth of the aerospace sector. The visit included a tour of Cummings Research Park, the second-largest research park in the United States, and meetings with the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. The Iowa group focused on workforce quality, infrastructure, and regional partnerships as key factors for economic success.
