Huntsville neighbors host summer trick-or-treat for boy with autism

Residents of a Huntsville, Alabama, neighborhood organized a summer trick-or-treat event for Soren Griffin, an 11-year-old boy with autism. Soren’s mother, Leah Farrow, had posted on Facebook seeking a few neighbors willing to let her son trick-or-treat for his birthday in July.

More than 100 neighbors responded to the request. Dressed in a banana costume, Soren went door-to-door and received various items including snacks and toys such as Lego sets and Play-Doh. Farrow noted that the community's generosity exceeded her expectations, as neighbors provided gifts instead of requiring her to supply the candy.
