Huntsville police investigate suspicious death of Savannah Tolbert

Investigators in Huntsville, Alabama, are examining the death of 37-year-old Savannah Tolbert, who was found shot dead in the front seat of a Tesla on November 15, 2022. While the initial scene suggested a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigators from the Huntsville Police Major Crimes Unit identified several inconsistencies.

Major Crimes Unit investigators noted that although the gun was found in Tolbert's right hand, the bullet wound was located on the left side of the back of her head. Additionally, first responders reported finding her fingers curled around the weapon, a detail investigators flagged as a potential red flag regarding the suicide theory.

Security footage from a nearby store captured Tolbert's husband, David Tolbert, appearing shocked and upset after discovering her body. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to determine the exact circumstances of her death.
