Huons selected for three national drug development projects
Huons has been selected for three national drug development projects under the ‘2026 Pharmaceutical and Bio-Venture Collaboration-Based Technology Development Project’. This initiative, led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and managed by the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA), aims to support the follow-up development of promising new drug pipelines through partnerships between bio-ventures and mid-to-large-sized pharmaceutical companies.
Huons will collaborate with three different bio-ventures to accelerate clinical entry using its expertise in chemical/manufacturing/quality control (CMC), production, non-clinical/clinical development, and regulatory affairs (RA):
• With Surginex: Developing an mRNA-lipid nanoparticle (LNP) eye drop for the treatment of intractable diabetic keratopathy, aiming to convert injectable mRNA treatments into a non-invasive eye drop form.
• With Pinobio: Advancing the clinical entry of ‘PBX-004’, an ITGB6-targeted antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) candidate based on the PINOT-ADC platform.
• With Pulse In Myer: Co-developing a subcutaneous formulation of ‘Pearl-101’, a peptide anticancer agent targeting homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) solid tumors that show resistance to PARP inhibitors and platinum-based chemotherapy.
CEO Song Su-young stated that these selections are concrete results of Huons’ ongoing open innovation efforts to connect innovative technologies from bio-ventures to the clinical stage.
