Huércal de Almería opens new amphitheater in Plaza de Las Mascaranas
Mayor Ismael Torres inaugurated a new amphitheater in the Plaza de Las Mascaranas in Huércal de Almería. The €582,001.25 project is part of a comprehensive public‑space remodel that aims to improve pedestrian accessibility, mobility and to provide a permanent outdoor venue for cultural and social activities throughout the year.
Torres said, “seguimos transformando nuestros espacios públicos para hacerlos más accesibles, modernos y útiles para los vecinos,” adding that the amphitheater will allow “un escenario permanente para la celebración de actividades culturales y sociales.” The renovation also includes road widening of the N‑340a and A‑1000, better access to surrounding neighborhoods, the future Parque Ágora and additional paving works.
The venue was already used during recent patron saint festivities for the Huércal Live festival, highlighting its role as a new focal point for community gatherings.
