Huriye Tan masters lathe operation in Aydın industrial sector

Huriye Tan, a 46-year-old resident of the Efeler district in Aydın, has transitioned from an apprentice to a master lathe operator. After raising her two children, Tan sought to contribute to her household budget by working alongside her husband, Sadık Tan, at an industrial site in the Ata neighborhood.

Despite initially having no knowledge of machinery and feeling uneasy about the smoke and technical components, Tan overcame these challenges through experience. She now works daily in a male-dominated industrial environment, expressing pride in her profession and noting that women are increasingly present in heavy industry when they possess the determination to succeed.
