Huron County teen to be sentenced for first-degree murder
Sentencing dates have been set for a 15-year-old who pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of an 11-year-old girl. Superior Court Justice Marc Garson has scheduled the hearing for October 13, 14, and 16 in Goderich.
The murder occurred on July 2, 2024, when the victim was found in a wooded area near Holmesville, a rural community in Huron County. The teen's guilty plea follows the discovery of the victim with 70 stab wounds. The sentencing process may depend on the completion of a court-ordered psychiatric assessment.
