Hurricane Vance impacts Mexico's Pacific coast

Hurricane Vance has moved along the Pacific coast of Mexico, fluctuating between Category 2 and Category 1 strength on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The system has produced maximum sustained winds of up to 170 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching 185 kilometers per hour.

While the center of the storm has moved away from the immediate coastline, its circulation is generating heavy rainfall, strong winds, and dangerous maritime conditions. Forecasts from the National Hurricane Center and Mexico's National Water Commission (Conagua) indicate heavy rains of 25 to 50 millimeters for Guerrero, Michoacán, Colima, and Jalisco. Oaxaca may also experience showers.

Authorities have warned of potential flooding in urban areas, rising river levels, and landslides in mountainous regions. Additionally, coastal areas are facing high surf, with waves expected to reach between three and five meters, posing risks to maritime navigation and beach activities.
