Hurricanes appoint Roger Randle as assistant coach

The Hurricanes have appointed Roger Randle as an assistant coach for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific campaign. Randle, who will oversee the club’s attacking portfolio, joins the team following an eight-year tenure with the Chiefs.

Randle returns to the Wellington-based franchise where he previously played five matches between 1996 and 1997. His coaching background includes roles with the New Zealand Barbarians, Waikato, Japan Sevens, Māori All Blacks, and the Chiefs. As a player, Randle represented the All Blacks and won a Sevens World Cup title with the New Zealand Sevens team.

Hurricanes head coach Clark Laidlaw noted that Randle’s experience with the Chiefs' attack will be a significant asset to the club. Randle will join a coaching group that includes Laidlaw, Cory Jane, and Jamie Mackintosh.
