Husbanken announces housing grants and master's scholarships

Husbanken has announced several initiatives regarding housing support and academic research in Norway.

For individuals aged 62 or older, Husbanken offers grants for age-friendly home upgrades. Eligible applicants can receive up to 25 percent of costs, with a maximum grant of 75,000 NOK, provided the total project cost is at least 40,000 NOK. Supported measures include installing ramps, adapting bathrooms, widening doorways, and improving lighting to help seniors live independently longer. The application deadline for these upgrades is October 30, 2026.

Additionally, Husbanken is offering 11 master's scholarships in collaboration with BOVEL at OsloMet. Seven scholarships of 30,000 NOK each are available for students researching housing policy and social housing issues, such as housing for the elderly, low-income groups, and homelessness prevention. Four new scholarships of 25,000 NOK each are designated for law students focusing on housing or rental law. The application deadline for these academic grants is November 15.
