Husein-ef. Kavazović calls for dialogue to counter Islamophobia

Husein-ef. Kavazović, the Reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, addressed the 49th anniversary of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the University of Sarajevo. He stated that the academic community should respond to rising Islamophobia through scientifically grounded, calm, and open dialogue.

Kavazović emphasized the importance of science and the transmission of knowledge to new generations. He noted that the Faculty aims to preserve classical Islamic scholarship while utilizing modern scientific methodologies to address contemporary challenges. The institution traces its educational roots back to the Gazi Husrev-beg medresa, founded in 1537, and the Higher Sharia-Judicial School established in 1887.
