Emirates Airbus A380 lands at Soekarno-Hatta; Husein Sastranegara to resume jet flights

An Emirates Airbus A380 successfully landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on August 8, 2026, marking the first time the ultra-large aircraft has operated at the facility. To support the flight on the Jakarta-Dubai route, Pertamina Patra Niaga supplied 92,901 liters of aviation fuel. The refueling process utilized high-capacity hydrant dispensers with flow rates between 2,500 and 4,000 liters per minute to accommodate the wide-body aircraft's requirements.

Separately, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung is set to resume commercial jet services starting August 14, 2026. Following approval from the Ministry of Transportation, InJourney Airports will begin operating narrow-body jet flights, with Garuda Indonesia scheduled to launch the initial Denpasar-Bandung and Bandung-Denpasar routes.
