Hutama Karya to implement tolls on Bayung Lencir-Simpang Ness road

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has announced that the Bayung Lencir-Simpang Ness section of the Betung-Tempino-Jambi toll road will soon transition from free operation to a paid tariff system.

The toll road segment was previously operated without fees to allow the public to experience the benefits of the new connectivity. The rollout began with the Bayung Lencir-Tempino segment on October 17, 2024, followed by the Tempino-Simpang Ness segment on September 14, 2025.

To prepare for the paid operation, Hutama Karya is equipping the route with several toll gates, including Pijoan, Muaro Sebapo, and Bayung Lencir. The company is also optimizing operational services, including 22 service units such as patrol vehicles, ambulances, and tow trucks, alongside 104 CCTV cameras and 6 Variable Message Signs to ensure safety and smooth traffic monitoring. This section is a vital part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), enhancing connectivity between South Sumatra and Jambi.
